how the score works
CareerScore uses a deterministic, norm-referenced engine. There is no black box — every bar has receipts. The score is built from seven independently-weighted pillars:
Education
Prestige-weighted by QS rankings + field relevance to the target domain.
Experience
Role seniority, duration, and employer signal from an elite-company index.
Projects
Complexity, deployment status, live users, original commit history — verified from GitHub.
Publications
Cross-referenced against OpenAlex / ORCID to verify authorship and venue quality.
Achievements
Competitions, scholarships, acceptances — verified via uploaded proof documents.
Skills
Claimed skills weighted against evidence — never taken at face value.
Verification confidence
A meta-score: how much of your evidence has been cross-checked at L2+.

technology
CareerScore is built on Next.js 14 (App Router), deployed on Vercel, with data stored in Supabase (Postgres + Auth). Fact extraction uses DeepSeek. Web research uses Firecrawl. Cryptographic signing uses ECDSA P-256. Rate limiting uses Upstash Redis. The scoring engine is fully deterministic TypeScript — no neural network makes the final score decision.
